There is no official way of doing it, the selling/sharing of accounts is prohibited by Epic Games (fortnite developer). Clearly there are some third parties that offer these kind of services, but I wouldn't risk doing it.

You can buy psn/xbox top up vouchers down any local shop and probably supermarket meaning your son wont ever have your card details stored in the future. Doesnt help now but as a child who spent £300 on little banners for my Nokia 3210 via the phone line it's probably a good idea for all parents to just do psn/xbox via top up cards.

I believe you can get up to 3 refunds with fortnite for this sort of thing. Should be in the options menu somewhere.

Ouch.

I don't even use my own credit card on the XBOX - I just don't like linking card details to stuff like that - so any online MS purchases (XBL etc) get done with vouchers that I buy elsewhere.

What does £3k of fortnite stuff get you? thats a lot of err.. different coloured and styled pick axes? What are the practicalities of selling an account, if 2 factor authentication is enabled then surely epic would not allow the email address and phone details to be changed at same time, just wandering if its actually easily possible?

fking hell. I hope you're sending him to work in the salt mines as punishment.

As for selling accounts, there is no legitimate way to do it but there is an underground market. As I understand it, you'd need to sell his entire gamertag, so you'd effectively be selling all of the digital games he owns with it and your credit card details have at one point been linked to that account, so yeah, it's definitely not not worth the risk.

You wouldn't be able to sell it for even a fraction of the money he's blown on it, either.

Agreed, I think the only real option is to ask them very, very nicely after explaining what went on... It's clearly not a 'typical' level of spend (and why wasn't it flagged by the card co or Epic Games themselves to check it was legit?).

I know this won't help now OP, but having had friends in the same position to you (admittedly smaller amounts of money). It's vital that kids accounts are set up properly locking them down from buying things, amazes me how many of my friends just let the kids use their adult accounts freely then get burnt.

A friends 10 year old did £5k on Fifa points a few months ago. Money got completely refunded, but as has been mentioned - you need a polite interaction with Epic to start that process.

Hopefully you can get some help from Epic but if not is it anything like the market for CS:GO skins? Where you can trade to different accounts? If it is there's some sites you can use, you get a trade request and once accepted money added to your account and can be transferred to your bank account, I've used some in the past and never had an issue.
