We run our office using four licences from BT costing £80/month + vat.
The phones are three BT desk phones and one cordless.

I now have need for another phone to use at another location on our number. I'm happy enough with the BT setup, but could I do it better and cheaper with someone else?

The remote phone would only need occasional use, can this be piggy backed onto one of the existing licences?

Please keep your replies simplistic because while I'm no techophobe, I am not quite au fait with technical terms.

Thanks.

Hi, I expect each phone logs into the bt voip service as an extension so theoretically if you had the account and gateway info you could set up another phone with the same credentials, unless bt are wise to it and only allow one mac or IP address per login in real time.

I take it you have nothing in your office, its all cloud?

Difficult to know if you could do it cheaper - in reality, it depends on the detail of the service you have signed up to...
I have an account with voipfone - three lines, one each to three offices, and we are paying just over £20 p/m

You can run your phones through MS Teams, if you use that. IIRC the license for voice is about 10 quid a month.
