Found my framed photo from the 2011 v12 vantage day that I was kindly taken to by John who is standing to my left in the second pic. I’m the one in white smack bang in the middle. I can see a few notable characters, notably the man you have to thank for the massive Burghley house event, General Ed Cunningham.
Goes to show how long I’ve been making Aston’s shiny for!
Lovely pic, and I think this is a video of the same day

I wonder how many people still have the same car. I recognise three that have moved on since that day (some of the old guard on here will probably know more) The sounds that these cars made as they departed were one of the factors which led me to purchase mine.
Best Regards

Greetings Paddy..............I'm still alive....
What a great day out that was Paddy, all very interesting and plenty of laughs along the way.
That framed Photo was kindly sent to those in attendance as a keep sake in what was a very kind gesture by Works Service, mine still adorns the "Aston Pavilion" at the bottom of our garden along with all the other memorabilia collected over what was a great motoring period in my miserable existence.
Some fine characters were present that day as well, including a certain young Shmee during those informative days of his now global empire doing a quick video after creeping in unnoticed in his lovely blue Vantage V8 Roadster.
How well has that young man done.........well done Tim and keep up your campaign championing the fashion for nice pull overs....
I wonder where all those present that day are now and I wonder what they are now driving........?.
For the record I'm the fat ugly one at the far left in the photo with my then Lightning Silver V12,a car I should never have parted with.........
, but as they say hindsight is a wonderful thing.
Parked behind and in front of the showroom was its "book end" sister car owned and driven by another lively character now lost to this forum, notably Lady Topaz, the lovely Di.
Great times and it makes me wonder where those cars are now as I know many folk moved onward and upward to the DBS shortly afterwards.
Happy days Paddy..........
Take care Ed.

These were indeed better times. It’s sad how the Bamford rose vs Appleby thing ruined the forum. I know a few of the old guard lurk on here still. I remember the vantage birthday event we went to after this one too. We had a proper laugh at that one! Have been meaning to do it for a while, but will call you very soon. I don’t get up there very often since paintshield went under, but we will have to sort something out in the near future.

I am here since a year or so, what is this Bamford vs Appleby feud you are mentioning if I may? Just out of sheer curiosity.EVR said:

It was when people post up a question regarding working on their Aston for servicing, exhausts and upgrades etc. Some people used Bamford rose and others used David Appleby and it got out of hand with people arguing, sometimes quite rightly, about why they should or not use their preferred outfit. It changed the vibe of the whole forum. Ed50 said:

I think Lady Topaz left the AM fold, after being enticed away by Jaguar. Currently shows owning an XJL. Is that their enormous saloon car? Very different from a V12V.
Her first Vantage, before the V12V was a V8VR, 1 of only 7 Grigio Titanio Roadsters in the UK.
Last I heard, that car is now in Scotland, being enjoyed by a PHer.

Paint Shield gone, I didn't know that Paddy and I'm saddened to hear it.That was like a second home for you.
Christ, think what state the local chinky Take Away will be in after losing 2/3rd's of his turnover with you not being in the area so much....

No hope of a Phoenix from the flames for PS then Paddy with Joe at the helm and you carrying on with your scrubbing brush prior to the film going on....?.
Great shame indeed.

Hi Dave,Can't believe that exciting little adventure was that long ago,I still half expect Del Boy to come running out of those famous doors every time I see them.
Well thats another one of my former Aston's featured on this thread and another one that maybe I should have stuck with.....

And yes, Paddy you will have given that a rub over as well I'm sure.
All those cars are now in the hands of new owners with Dave's awesome 9 wanding the furthest to be with its new keeper on the other side of the world.
The green V8 was last spotted lodging with John McGurk which just leaves us wondering who inherited that very nice never raced or rallied Lightning Silver DBS which was formerly owned by "he that shouldn't be mentioned in these parts" .......
.All the best Dave and love to George.

Sorry to hear you had to slum it like that!

G&T's should be free of charge as a basic human right!

I can tell you that in 2010, a couple of Americano for the aperitivo were around 60 €.
Sounds like we got a bargain then,if my memory serves me right I think we were paying circa 21 euros for a G and T and a standard bottle of Heineken
ran out at about 18 euro's.
That was a few years back now so inflation may have pushed their tariffs up a bit......
, no wonder Del Boy did a runner without picking up his tab.Nice place but christ you wouldn't be wanting a fortnight in there...
