It's the only "major" sporting event that the BBC haven't lost to Murdoch yet! You can't blame them for hyping it up ad nauseum. The only thing that relieves the boredom during this tedious event, is the office book on exactly when 'Tiger' Tim will choke. I've got a fiver on a second round exit..

I quite like Wimbledon actually. A good, close, tense game of tennis is a good thing to watch, and when sweltering heat is soaking through your house, a nice cool room with Wimbledon on the telly is nice and civilised, a bit like Strawberries and Cream.
Besides, what are you doing watching daytime TV at this time of year anyway - get out there and enjoy the weather, or go for a drive (but avoid BMWs).
The whole Henmania thing gets a bit grating though. I don't think it's good for British tennis to use him as such a role model when everyone associates him with losing.

As the amount of money has gone up, both in winnings and sponsorship, so the participants take fewer and fewer risks. Simply - there is too much at stake for it to be fun.
Wimbledon is boring, motor-racing is boring.

Any game that takes several days has some serious flaws in it's design IMHO.
Only one thing more boring than watching cricket on TV and that's listening to cricket on the radio...
