We recently purchased an Audi Q5 from a garage, a long way away from us. It’s an 09 plate, so a fair few years old. When it arrived we noticed a very strong chemical smell in the car, which has stopped us using it until resolved... After some digging and a few calls the garage owner has come clean and said he was using the car to move a terraclean machine, and some of the chemicals have accidentally gone onto the rear of the car. He explained that he had the rear seats out, and thought he had cleaned it all up, but perhaps the rear carpets need cleaning too - which he will pay for...

As you can imagine, I’m pretty pi$$@d off. But, I feel we got a good price on the car (of course!) and want to resolve the issue. However, do you think this will even be possible, will the smell of the chemicals ever be removed following deep cleaning? Any tips of what to look for when talking to local companies? And finally, is anyone experienced in this local to me in Bournemouth that can provide such a service?

Thank you!
