Just before lockdown I re-insured my car, and added a remap. Because of the restrictions, house move and work, I havn't been able to get it done properly where I intended.

Thinking of mail ordering something so I can stick a generic map on, not too extreme, which would do.

What's the current favoured OBD home remap that I can just crack on with?

Darkside developments do a service with remote tuning.

Definitely stick with tried and tested. Darkside know these inside out.

If generic REVO, APR, Racingline (formely Volkswagen Racing & Shark Performance, VWR bought Shark) to name a few.

A lot of tuners are open again now, where are you based?

Take a look at this, it will put you off tuning boxes which really are rubbish.

Hmmm, an interesting watch but not entirely accurate in some regards. Several of the ones i've run have needed a few miles to properly adjust to the car and visa versa.

They also say on their website that tuning boxes only control boost and fueling, but there are plenty around which have cam sensors etc too.

I've had good and bad ones - the worst being the DTUK on a Cupra 4Drive which provided batst performance but no end of problems.

In contrast, my Tdi Tuning ones have given modest but noticeable gains, as per their findings.

I ran a dtuk box on a Saab which claimed a jump from 150 Bhp to around 200 Bhp from memory and I could not tell the difference when it was fitted.
Sadly I was out of the period where you could return it and their attitude was that there must be something wrong with your car.
They really shouldn’t be allowed to sell them.
