After over 6 years and 40,000 enjoyable miles - from Aberdaron to Zurich - the old girl has gone.

I always seemed to be the Rapide's most effusive fan-boy, so I will miss her so very much indeed. I did actually shed a tear! Most odd.

New owner got a fabulous reliable car in fabulous condition with tons of provenance.

So...

Clearly I messed up!

Needed to fix that.....

So...

Got another one smile

Got a Rapide S. Mint. 189mph just wasn't enough - V Max needed to start with a 2 so I can put anything from Stuttgart to bed wink

Proper pics to follow as all todays pic plans are ruined by torrential rain thunder and lightning - just as I was sticking my velcro on for the plates!

Ken I was in Aston Martin Bristol yesterday having my own plates fitted and there was a lovely Black 65 plate Rapide S with a Cross stitch on the seating for sale ...... lovely looking thing. 😊

I approve wholeheartedly of this post and decision!

The Rapide has been transformative on my perspective of performance cars, I can’t imagine being without one.

Truly awesome cars and I can only imagine the S is more of the same, only better!

Have you got a later model with the newer style ski slope? There are few dipping down to frankly absurd values! A few years off perhaps but you are forging a route I am highly likely to be tempted into in future!

Congratulations, we need pics!

I really think they are a 'best kept secret'!

Mine doesn't have the latest ski slope but does have glass buttons, DAB, 8 Speed etc. Its 10% better than my previous adored one - not much really. When I get the Bridgestones off and use the reverse camera same time it will be 18% better. [all ish wink ]

The value on that 2020 one is astonishing for a £150k+ list car.

Had me worried for a bit there Ken. You are a fabulous advocate of a superb car and glad that will continue. smile.
I loved my 2 Rapide S’s and can’t wait to see photos of yours.

Cheers Paddy! New one even has had GTechnic crystal serum inside the wheels! Could eat your dinner off the insides!

Fabulous cars. There is one a couple of miles down the road from me, the guy just parks it on the street and it’s usually dirty and covered with all sorts of stuff. I don’t think he’s an Aston fan as he previously had a Maserati Gran Turismo, which he treated in exactly the same way.

Thanks J! And yes whilst it isn't the best time to buy a new car as I haven't got much on, it just all aligned and the cost to change was very reasonable indeed. This S has the same drivetrain as a Vanq and is a fabulous drivers car. Maybe more of a sexy slab than a svelte sculpture like yours but I'll take the superb deal as the kids are still at home for a few more years!

Photos?

One question - did any Rapide models come with carbon-ceramic brakes?
