can you not remove the rear glass.? or does the boot need to be open for that tho..?

You need to unlock the rear screen clips! to do this you need to access the boot AFAIK.

You would need the boot open for that. If you ring your dealer, they may be able to recommend a course of action. Please ring them. You will realise why I cant say more when they tell you what to do!
