Ok, first galaxy phone I've ever dropped and had them since the first generation.

It's usable but darn annoying, plus irritates me for dropping it.

Samsung want 275 quid for a repair and they force you into a "free" battery replacement.

As this is mostly about 100 quid less than an equivalent aged like for like has anyone got any other places they'd recommend for a repair?

Thanks

I used to pass one of these shops in Manchester, always seemed busy.

£235 - https://www.ismash.com/collections/samsung-galaxy-...

Um ok, not much cheaper than Samsung and they do the repair at home (at social distance presumably).

I would DIY but it sounds like it just isn't an easy job for people now like it used to be.

No comments on the price but a guy sat next to me at work had his S8 done at home by Samsung just last week and basically they come to your house in a van, take the phone from you and do all the work in their own van before returning it to you at the door. Seems a decent service

Yeh this is what they do, no wonder I'm ending up having to pay through the nose.

It does come with a new battery replacement to be fair.

I've just been asked to confirm IMEI and its subbed out to a company called Wefix.

Way I see this is I should ideally get it repaired by Samsung "officially" because come next upgrade I'll be trading it in, which also is money I'll recoup on this big cost of repair.

They need the heat pad thing now days to get the screens off as they are glued in plus latest galaxies are waterproof. Original Apples I know were much easier to sort out but I'm just not wasting my time.

Well for anyone interested bloke did this last week, he turned up on the doorstep took it off my hands and in 20 mins he was done.

License to print money at the price I've paid but lesson learnt.

They do let you split it over three payments which softens the blow.
