Infotainment/Sat nav Volvo vs garmin

So the question here is really more about LCD/graphics quality than the navigation itself. Was there any difference on the earlier year DBS vs the DB9.2 and v12vs? I’ve driven the later years of the models and found the screen resolution and color to be acceptable. Is it the same unit in the earlier year DBS or do you have to get the 2012 DBS with garmin? Is there any actually difference in the UI other than the navigation maps?

I’ve searched YouTube to compare but not much is out there.

Did you find out any information on this?
My 2009 Nav is not working and I'm looking at replacing it so I would love to know the differences with the later version.
Anyone else have any info on this?
