Good looking car. I can see bits of Tesla and Taycan in it. Fully Charged first drive. Starts at £26k equivalent in China.

As a brand name, Xpeng is a bit crap sounding though, from a western point of view. Wonder if they will change it for overseas market.
Not if you are woke though. It's peng!https://www.collinsdictionary.com/submission/4533/...

I'd be tempted if it makes it over here and the price doesn't rise too much.
Saw an interview with the VP, Dr Brian Gu - also on the Fully Charged Show - he's a US business man and former banker, Chinese born.

I guess I'm a sucker. i pay apple prices despite cheaper Chinese phones matching on spec.
Not a sucker at all. Apple hardware is lovely to touch, handle and use. It’s also beautifully made and has excellent residual values. IOS/Mac OS is the icing on the cake. There will always be people willing to pay a premium for it. But it can only be a good thing to have more choice and competition, particularly for those wanting an EV at a lower price point. Looks like a fantastic car. Quiet, well built, refined, great performance and a great price.
The charging will presumably Chinese standard for DC, which is similar to CHAdeMO. I could live with that though, the range is good enough.
Unfortunately it will probably be a long time before it comes to the UK. China is RHD and post-brexit the UK won't be a very attractive market anyway.

Looks lovely, but if it ever comes to the UK I'd put money on the price beginning with a 4.
Just look at the MG ZS EV - the price in China is 119,800 RMB after incentives, which is £14k in the UK. In the UK, list prices starts at about £25k after incentives, so around 80% more. If this goes up by the same proportion when it comes here, it'll be a £47k car. Even at £40k (probably a realistic minimum to expect it to cost) the overtly Chinese badge will ensure it struggles, however good it is.

You do know most of Apple's stuff is made in China?kambites said:
Looks pretty good to me. Broadly similar in shape to the Model-3 but less dumpy.
The front is nicer than the M3 (which looks like a Ford KA) but I'm still not that keen on it. It's okay, the headlights are nice. A lot of EVs take their form from the needs of aerodynamic efficiency and this looks like no exception.anxious_ant said:
Made in China electric car? Probably won't last long...
This kind of blithe superiority complex in the face of evidence to the contrary is the sort of thing that happens at the end of empires. We're f
