Mrs Cjelli is having fairly serious problems sending emails with attachments.

When an email is sent with what seems to be the correctly selected attachment, outlook is actually sending the previous file that was being used.

It seems to be a new feature of outlook/windows where, when you select insert attachment, it gives you the last three documents you’ve used. Picking the file you want from here seems to be causing the problem. I’ve not used such an up to date version, so I’ve never seen this feature.

I’ve not watched her actually perform this operation, but she’s never managed to balls it up before this new feature.

Also, a member of her staff has just reported the same symptoms.

Is there a bug or glitch we haven’t heard of?

Quite probably user error I'm afraid. The feature works fine. If she's having difficulty using it she could either just drag and drop the file onto the email or manually navigate to it, but I'd suggest watching her and trying to spot where she's going wrong.

It probably is 'user error', but is it any suprise when MS change perfectly good UI functionality for no purpose other than they want to.

I dread every time I get an update, as I know I'll waste a chunk of working time hunting where the functionality has gone or resetting my config to work how I want it to.

Example this week :

Outlook change which demolished the views for all my folders. No, I do not want to see previews and my emails in conversation order.

Meanwhile, none of the MS software is clever enough to render text properly if you have system text size other than default. A 'feature' which has been in MS tools for at least 20 years.

I’m quite happy to blame the good lady wife for her inept technical nature. The only thing is that the other person who’s had the problem is really quite savvy and usually very reliable.

We’re going to run some tests between our personal emails later. Will feedback.
