£2000 interesting but cheap to run

Hi all,

Going to sell my car to free up some money for a house purchase. I have an mx5 for fun so I want something to go along side.

Criteria:
150+hp
Cruise control
4/5 doors
Interesting
40mpg on a run
Diesel or petrol

I personally think an s60 d5 would be good. 5 pot, so a bit different and just a nice piece of car.

Anything else??

All the above are pretty much bulletproof but make sure the gearbox service has been done (every 40k) if not the haggle £250.00 off the price.
