Best sporty 3.0 TD 4x4 SUV, £12,000 budget?

We have room for a do-anything car now, to add to the garage. But sporty-ish. Plenty of overtaking power.
Must haves are at least 200 bhp, good economy, 4 wheel drive, SUV body and a £12,000 limit.
I can think of BMW X3 and Audi Q5, but what else might sneak in if you were buying in this sector? What is the Infiniti like?

At this price point none of these are truly sporty they'll handle well for an SUV the Infiniti is the pick for me when considering this size of SUV spec wise added to fit & finish means this is the one I'd buy they're a bit more juicy than the X3/Q5 but I'd suffer it for a lower mileage & better car.

I bought an X3 after trying several cars, it's a 2009, 286 bhp twin-turbo diesel. So far so good, 68,000 on the clock, pulls very well through the rev range and will be getting a map from E Maps very shortly as it's an engine Simon the boss there has much experience with. 350 bhp and no loss of reliability sounds ideal to me. MPG will apparently be no worse despite the increased power.

Any of the Lexus SUVs should meet that criteria?

Only criticism is that they have an increasingly shrinking boot space

Was that the last of the first generation? Would you recommend it overall? Quick owners review would be appreciated - other than it goes like a rocket! :-)
