Jag prices diesel XJ

Car priced below BMW's equivalent 7-Series

Jaguar XJ 2.7 TDVi from £43,995
Jaguar XJ 2.7 TDVi from £43,995
Following PistonHeads' story on 14 June about Jaguar's completion of its line-ups conversion to diesel, the Ford subsidiary has completed the story by announcing the car's price --and thereby getting a double-bite of PR.

The new XJ 2.7 TDVi will cost from £43,995 for the Executive model, while the Sovereign and Sport Premium models will be priced at £49,995, with standard wheelbase only available. This compares well with BMW's lowest-priced 7-Series diesel, the 730d, which starts at £47,505 and is two groups further up the insurance premium curve.

Petrol-engined XJs are bit cheaper, starting at £41,995 for the 3.0 litre V6 Executive with up to the range topping £74,995 for the Super V8 Long Wheelbase. All prices are OTR.

That's quite reasonable pricing - good for Jag unercutting their rivals!
:p (to BMW, Merc & Audi)

Saw one of these at The MotorExpo in London at the weekend - seemed very refined (even when I revved the bollox off it, when their PR people let me start it up!!)
