Anyone know about air conditioning?

I have a portable air conditioner, an Aptair PAC-900.

It runs+cools fine, but after about 45 minutes of operation, it will switch off the compressor (?) and blow air only. If I leave it for a few hours, it will switch the compressor back on again. Cycle continues. Cooling, therefore, not optimal.

Any ideas where to look?

Dont know much about small aircon units but in work we use large refridgeration units than run on a similair principle.
It may need some sort of service like a gas recharge or a filter needs changing in the system.

Sounds like the compressor's overheating and tripping a cutout.

Check that the airflow through the unit is all as it should be - no accumulations of dust partly blocking the fins, no sticky bearings causing the fans to run slow. If that's all OK it's probably a fault in the compressor itself, which means a new aircon I'm afraid.

Where did you get it from. And does it have a dehumidifier as well.

Sounds like the same one I bought and it does the same.
