Discussion
Firstly, thanks to all of you who gave me advice when I locked my keys in the boot the other night, I got 'em back now and am tearin' about as usual, but my car has been vandalised by someone who decided to climb on to it scratching the bonnet quite badly, marking the roof and scratching the boot and off side rear wing, snapped the mirror and so my otherwise lovely babe of a car is looking a bit soory for its self, so this brings me to the reason im posting this missive, I am gonna claim from my insurance and would like a local (south london) garage that can undertake this wirk with the tender loving care that a car like this needs, also one that will guarentee its work for a few years and provide me with something to drive in the meantime that won't damage my street cred too much whilst I wait for it all to be done. Is this too much to ask? thanks in advance Vinny

I can't imagine a pantshop guaranteeing their work for anything other than the quality of the paintjob. I presume that's what you refer to when you ask about guarantee?
I had a respray done by Tom Horsborough who is near Guildford. He only does GRP work. And very good it is too.
You could speak to him on(01428) 608255
Sorry to hear about the damage. Low life like this should be castrated.

Has my Amaranth (Purple) Chimaera keyed on three panels about 3 years ago....
B*****ds....
Cost about £780 at Harrisons in Farnham. They tried once and it didn't match so did it again. 1 week later perfect job well done.
Only mistake was me claiming this on my insurance as it effected my NCB

I'll second the recommendation for Tom Horsburgh. Expert at GRP... Resprayed Jessica's front (
) recently, lovely and careful job...
Very sorry to hear about the vandalism. Idiots! Had that done to my previous car, parked properly in a public parking lot and someone with boots (obviously) decided to walk the length of the car.
Hope you get it fixed soon.

Imagine, a Jag reversed up my griff front, had a complete front respray, great job in Cirencester. Got it back safely into my garage, overnight somebody put a 6 inch knife cut down the wing. Going back,£250.
Obviously not that safely in your garage then. Get a new lock as well.

quote:
cheers mate, they would be more than castrated if I'd have cought 'em. and yes it was for the quality of the work and as I have previously read about paint not sticking to the mirrors( and that will be part of my job)on chim's so this is one of my concerns!
All the best

Vinny mate, deepest sympathies, Some little scrotes did exactly the same to mine a few weeks ago too!!!!
Put scratches up the boot and down the nearside wing!!!
If I ever catch the little b**tard that did it
In a way though I am lucky, they did not break anything!!

'Thing is, they walked past my Rangie and two other cars to get to my griff. I also live on a farm with a locked gate some 3/4 of a mile away, they wanted my griff!'
As that sounds ike a deliberate attack, I think someone must have seen you drive past in it and taken objection for some reason. OAPs and numpties are not too aggressive but you might have attracted the attention of a rabid anti-car cycling group...
