I’ve been a member here since it used to be called petrolheads (until they were forced to change the name)

Bizarrely a few days ago I was thinking “I wonder what happened to my TVR...”

I bought it new in 1999. It was my second Chimaera and I decided to buy a 450. I specified an unusual paint - Lotus Titanium. My mate had an Elise in that colour and I thought it would suit a TVR. I heard from the dealer that the factory were less than impressed!

Anyway - I searched for “lotus titanium 450 chimaera” last Saturday- and low and behold it had come up for sale for the first time in 15 years !

Very weird coincidence. And it looks hardly any different to when I sold it in 2001 for 24k. Now on sale for 18k.

And no, tempted though I am, I’m not buying it.

Great story. Fantastic price retention over that time considering the worlds gone bonkers since that time. Any pics of the car for sale wink

I thought it was a bit of a steep price until I saw it has only done 30k miles! Less than 1500 per year for 21 years, a shame really. frown

I think I did nearly 18k in two years! I drove it to Europe twice - once over the Simplon Pass (2000m) into Italy.

It does look like it’s been extremely well looked after.

Also I notice is has the minidisc player I put into it - I have the original radio in my garage somewhere!
