718 - whistling noise

I Just wantEd to check before I ring my OPC but I have noticed a whistling / ringing type noise from the rear of my car at speed (65 mph +). It could be from the rear spoiler, anyone else had this problem?

If you have PPF on the car then it will whistle.

I’ve had the same whistling problem on my Cayman GTS, I eventually isolated the problem to the rear spoiler. There’s a join between the top and bottom parts on the front edge of the spoiler, this was causing the whistling.

To test this tape up the front edge, the moment this was done the whistling vanished. I was then able to get a new spoiler fitted under warranty and haven’t heard a whistle since.

I did also remove the PPF on the door mirrors, it was a waste of time and money, it made no difference at all.

Yep. Its the spoiler.

I had this on my previous Cayman and have just adjusted the spoiler on my new GTS due to the same whistling. Fortunately it's gone now.

You should’ve bought a Boxster - an extra whistle would make no odds (roof down of course )

It’s just pedestrians whistling because you look so good in your car.
