Never had one before, but I thinks I have one now. Bottom eye lid on left eye is sore and swollen, slightly itchy.
NHS site says to hold a warm flannel to the eye throughout the day, but this hasn't helped.
Off to the chemist later to see if theres anything they suggest.
Anyone had success with an medication or treatments?

Not my eye..

Cold tea in an eyeglass applied to the stye, however I should say like most of my old Mum's remedies
[ a sulphur and treacle mixture for acne, feet in a bucket of snow for chilblains ] it never worked.

I believe styes [ similarly lip sores ] are a sign of being generally rundown

You are on the right track with heat, GPs and pharmacists will probably suggest chloramphenicol but that is there go to for eyes. A heat mask such as https://www.amazon.co.uk/Eye-Doctor-Essential-Blep...
work better than a flannel as retain the heat better, most resolve without anything more drastic than hot compresses but if it's not improving in many areas Opticians are contracted by local health authorities to run NHS funded schemes (could be called MECS, CUES or similar) where they will look at eye problems and refer on if needed, we have a lot more training and equipment to deal with eyes than your average GP. Weirdly seen a lot more styes and lid lumps than normal during lockdown

it will take more than a day to resolve so keep at it. a cotton bud dipped in hot water (boil and then allow to cool a bit) and wiped across the area may get at it a bit more directly, if you do make sure to go just inside your eyelid also rather than just on outside where the pressure feels as its on the inside where the blocked duct is

Nipped to the chemist yesterday and they gave me some Golden Eye ointment (1% Antibiotic) so I'll give that a try as well.

I've had one for the past 5/6 weeks started off like yours, just put a warm compress on it.
GP prescribed Chloramphenicol, pharmacy give me Optrex - infected eye drops for about a fiver which is the same thing so saved me money on the prescription.
One drop a day.

It's nearly gone but can feel and see some remnants on the inner eyelid.

I believe it is from tiredness so try and get some more rest and limit screen time on phones etc.

I used to get these from time to time. Bactroban was extremely effective. I think that it's prescription only but worth a try if your present treatment isn't effective. Hope you get it sorted soon
