To be fair, chaps. Lance is based in Canada where I believe they *close* roads for this sort of event from time to time....?
A bit like a tarmac rally....
In the UK this sort of thing only happens on the Isle Of Man - and only with bikes.
I'm not sure the question was quite as out of order as it seemed...

"Road Racing" is also the collective term used for all production based motorcycle (not GP's) "on tarmac" racing. i.e Superbike, Supersport, Powerbike etc etc even when it's conducted on circuits.
If thats what he's asking about I'd say Keith Codes "Twist of the Wrist"
If not then try watching The Fast and the Furious

EEK, Even though I lived in the UK for 12 long years I missed a coloquialwhatsit, by "road racing" I simply meant a twisty bendy circuit like LeMans or the ring, as opposed to Nascar ovals, speedway, 1/4 mile drag, etc etc.
I am no street racing hooligan ! so settle down.
By the way I read the Highway code

"The Technique Of Motor Racing" by Piero Taruffi (ISBN 0-8376-0228-9) has been republished recently, and goes back to the very basic physics, and builds up from there. It's quite hard work (due to some dodgy typesetting that puts the diagrams away from the relevant text), and as it covers true road racing (crowned roads, etc.) it is very good, and interesting to read as an insight into the old ways.
I think Amazon have it.
