Many thanks, I think K type is correct. I just Googled images and the picture I have copied below looks like quite a good match.
I remember Dad talking about this car but I had never really thought about researching exactly what it was. He owned it in the early 50's when he was in the Royal Engineers, I think it was a sort of officer's mess "pool car" in that someone owned it until they got posted and whereupon it was sold to the next officer and so on. No doubt it got used as something of a officer's passion wagon, my Dad owned it when he met my Mum!
