I just couldn’t believe it :mad:


I bought two new tyres for the S on the Saturday morning and headed down to the MOT test station. After messing about with the connector on the rear light cluster because of a dodgy contact it made it through :jump: :)

I then drove the 3 miles home and parked safely in the garage.

Sunday morning one of them is flat as a pancake :weeping: Closer inspection revealed a well worn cross headed screw imbedded in the tyre. FFS the little hairy bits had not even worn off. What did I do in a previous life to deserve this.

I feel your pain, I had a similar problem, on the Scenic, not the TVR thank God.

But that only makes it worse, as the Michelin tyres on the Scenic are 113quid each ! (Could be worse I suppose, Like F1 tyres !!! wot a waste of a race weekend that was )

I replaced the 2 front ones, and My wife then proceeded the next day to drive over Obvious broken glass, which Ripped the sidewall on one of them, so a new one required.

Then I drove into a large rock (small country road, 2 cars passing, rock hidden in grass ) , within a couple of days of replacing the ripped one. This also ripped the sidewall so needed another tyre.

Seeing Brand new tyres thrown in the bin really annoyed me, especially with the price of the buggers.

If its just a screw gone through the centre trad then this can easily and safely be repaired by your local tyre fitters, costs around £5-10.
