Speedo not working Chim '99
Discussion
Hi all, just wanting to check my logic on this...
My speedo stopped working so have hooked up Rovergauge and have gone for a drive. RG also is not registering anything under MPH (at speeds >50mph) so am assuming the problem is likely at the speed sensor next to the diff? (am aware RG will only register 0mph or 30mph depending on whether you are moving or not).
Can someone please confirm my assumption before I jack the car up and investigate the sensor.
Also will having no speed data in the ecu affect the performance of the engine in any way?
thanks
Ed

I had this happen twice in the past.
1. The sensor failed and had to be replaced. Car ran fine. I worked off the rev counter and knowing which gear I was in until I could get it replaced.
2. A mouse chewed through the wire where it passes through the fibreglass (under the knick knack triangle by your left elbow). Car ran fine until I was able to fix the wire.
