Thank you for the link, and absolutely no criticism to yourself but:

Thats all I need, an app to tell me when in bluetooth range of my car, thats its not going to start!

It appears to simply be a bluetooth voltmeter/ammeter. They seem to be trying to find good reason for producing an app. Its as if they produced an app then tried to find what it might be useful for.
I think the best option is still a maintenance charger.

You can find similar generic bluetooth monitors on ebay or amazon for £20. I have fit one on the battery a few months back. To be honest I was expecting the bluetooth range to be better and would have been nice if it worked from in the house (about 5m and 1 wall away from the car) However the range is such that you need to stand next to the car for the app to work. I guess its ok for a quick check of the battery so you know when you need to put the charger on.

My CarLock tracker gives me voltage info (current & historical) to an app over 4G so no proximity issues. And is a fraction the cost of the OEM tracker subscription and is insurance approved.

It did actually save me once...the car was in airport parking and I happened to notice, from overseas, the voltage was below 12v and falling so got the parking company to put it on charge. Had it continued to fall they wouldn’t have been able to open the car when I got back to take it to the terminal. Turned out to be a failing battery (now replaced).

When the battery gets so low low it can’t operate the doors and you have to get in with the manual key it is rather scary...especially on the convertible as you carefully try and get the window past the door seal as it doesn’t do the window drop any more. Ask me how I know...!
