Hi. I’m a first time Porsche owner. Two weeks in! It looks like all of my brakes on my 2010 Cayman need to be replaced. Does anyone have any idea roughly what sort of money I’m looking at here?

On a totally unrelated note, theres a round pencil sharpener-like hole in the little section where the cigarette lighter power thingy is. Photo attached. . No one I’ve asked has a scooby doo what it’s for! Can you help?!

If you take a look at the RPM Technik website they list cost of servicing etc which will give you an idea.

About £2k for discs and pads at an OPC, mine were done last year.

And I don’t know what that hole is for either, so hoping for some enlightenment too.

If you can DIY, discs and pads all round for a 2010 Cayman S should be do-able using original equipment quality parts for around £450, or a fair bit less with other good quality brands like Pagid or Brembo.

It’s hard to tell when something’s a joke or not but surely it can’t be a cigarette holder! Not even ten years ago surely! I’m going to a Porsche dealer today to get my keys reprogrammed. I’ll ask them!

Got the disks and pads replaced on my 2010 S when I got it a few years ago by Halfords autocentre for just under £900. Apparently it's free next time or something.

Not sure what that hole is but will have a look in mine to see what's there...
