2005 Maserati Quattroporte..........
Discussion
Incoming tomorrow, 48k miles, FSH. Black with cream leather. The car's 250 miles away so I've bought it based on pictures and a video (risky). MOT history looks spot on. Basically I can't wait to hear the V8 Ferrari engine. Also I'm in big trouble with the wife.
More details to follow when I get home sometime next month!

Bought my 4200 Spyder unseen from a dealer description and photos, Dickie Grace. It arrived at my house to a slightly nervous new owner but, from then on, we had 3 great years together. They are more robust than people give them credit for. Yes, there can be electrical issues but regular use keeps these at bay.
But they sound fantastic and you own a Maserati!

It's not the reliability that scares peoples it's the crazy dealer prices for fixing the niggles. They put tamper proof material around parts they don't want people to fix, they want them to go and pay silly money at the dealers. But they sound fantastic and you own a Maserati!

Well that's disappointing. He's just text to say he's sold it to someone else, even though I transferred a deposit two days ago. Poor form. Time for a vodka in the sun.
Vodka and moving on! Not a very PH response there! Surely you've instructed your solicitor to sue him for all he's worth and to furnish you with a brand new Maserati as compensation! Mr Obertshaw said:

Looks handsome. Haven’t they upgraded or updated something now which makes the gearbox less troublesome?
I thought the auto gearbox was pretty solid, being a ZF.Are you talking of the Duo Select, which being a robotised manual, can be hard(er) on the clutch?
Simon, regarding tips, just drive and enjoy! I’ve had mine 9 months and it has been excellent. I had a 4200 until recently too which was also fault free. In my short experience with Maseratis so far they’ve really been far better and more solidly screwed together than I imagined they would be.
ETA - sorry to read you’ve lost the car. There are plenty more out there, nonetheless not good form from the dealer.
