Folder sync to network drive, Windows 10
Discussion
I used Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop for editing RAW photo images and currently these are all stored on my NAS. This is mostly fine but it can be a bit sluggish when loading images over the network (wired, 1Gbps) so I've been wondering about moving them to local SSD in the PC and having some sort of synchronisation set up so that the RAW folder on the PC is then kept permanently sync'd with one on the NAS for added protection from data loss. I know that NAS/RAID is not backup, that's already covered currently as the NAS backs up to Backblaze B2 once per week.
I did do some Google searching on how to do this but it seems to be one of those cats that there are endless ways to skin, so to speak. Most articles/blog posts etc. just explain how to do it in one particular way, e.g. Robocopy, Synctoy etc. and that's great but I'm really looking for input in terms of what actually works well vs. what doesn't. The PC in question runs Windows 10 Home edition, in case that matters.

I use Resilio Sync for phone -> desktop sync. It can be used across various platforms. It's a bit finicky in set up but works well once up and running (and is free to use).
NAS -> NAS I use built in rSync (unix) as it's much quicker than doing it any other way (but that's not really what you want to do
).

).I use freefilesync to do this. It's not a realtime sync like dropbox, onedrive etc. but you can use Windows scheduler for it to run at whatever frequency you like. It's free (as the name suggests) and has quite a lot of nice options I like for making copues of changed files, one way mirroring etc.
If your NAS supports it then Nextcloud is a great solution and works just like dropbox with realtime syncing but to your NAS. If you're handy with a network it works whether you're on your LAN or anywhere on the internet too.
