The car is a 2014 Boxster 3.4S, which is out of warranty.
The PADM Disabled warning light has just come on.
From discussions here, I can see it relates to a fairly common (& fairly expensive) problem with the computer-controlled suspension

I want to get the problem resolved, but Porsche dealers are quoting as much as 7 weeks before they can even schedule a Diagnosis!

So my first question is: Is it okay to drive the car until I can get it fixed?

Secondly: Are there any recommended independents in West London who can diagnose?

Finally: Is it worth the money and the delay to get the problem sorted at a franchised Porsche dealer?

I assume your car has Sport Chrono? In which case it will be the dynamic gearbox mounts and circa £1500 a side to replace.

I think the dash warning says driving is possible? In which case I'd use it but drive like Miss Daisy until you can get it looked at.

Hi Dave

I had this warning flash up while I was doing 140mph+ down the Bentley straight at Snetterton a couple of weeks ago, in a 991.2 GT3. It's the dynamic engine mounts. I spoke to the techs at my OPC and they said it was ok to continue with the track day but take it easy for a few laps to see how the car responded with fixed mounts, which is how they revert when there's a fault. I did a couple of reduced speed laps and then carried on for two more sessions. I'm no racing driver but I thought the car felt a fraction different when powering out of the corners. Might of just been the placebo effect if that's how best to describe it.

The car has just been in for it's two year service but they didn't have the parts to hand to fix it then so it's going back soon. And as Twinfan says it's about £1000 for parts a side, (i'm guessing they will only do one side) plus labour. It's a few hours to fit.

It's no problem to drive the car as it is, I doubt it would be noticeable on the road. Not cheap to fix out of warranty though.

Thanks for the feedback.
I'm intending to use it (albeit with care, and on the road only) until repair is possible, about a month from now.

As said, you are fine to drive with this. You will probably not even notice any difference, don’t worry your engine isn’t going to drop out it’s just you won’t get the auto stiffening of the mounts in hard cornering/braking etc.
