Which one would you keep on the driveway for some summer fun - an 89 Guards Red Turbo or 94 Speed Yellow CS?

I would say the turbo as well. But, knowing what I now know, I'd budget for some upgrades.

Quite by chance, one of the 10 or so previous owners of my car knew their stuff and fitted a later turbo and did a bit of work on the suspension and damping. All I knew when I bought it that it wasn't laggy and handled like a dream. It's still the nicest handling early 911 I've ever experienced. You'll hear lots of stories that they're horrible things to drive and luckily I knew none of this when I bought it as an impulse buy over 10 years ago. Compare it to standard cars and I know what they mean.

Plus the 930 turbo shape is just such an iconic design. You could just look at its curves for hours smile

If you already have a 911 then I'd actually go for the 968 to get a completely different experience. Speed yellow rocks!

If no 911 currently in garage then Turbo, such a classic.

How do they compare cost-wise then?

What do you want to use it for?

A 968 CS is probably more of a usable fun car to drive.

The 911 turbo (930) is more of an icon.

Had both 944 turbo and 930. I'd be tempted by the 968CS personally. The elephant in the room is they're very average to drive and I'm being nice. Sexiest car ever though so to pull beautiful women buy the 930. To drive by the 968 but next to a 930 its invisible for road presence.

You could buy a 968CS and still have ~£100K change compared to a 930 turbo, surely?

Thanks everyone - lots to chew on

I don't think I was very clear in my original post - I already own them both! Challenge is that there is only a single space on the drive and the others are kept in relatively deep storage - its about who should win for the summer months

Looks like a lot of votes for the Turbo...

Another one for the 930 here, but only because I have one. Try and get a 5-speed if you can, so much more of a complete drive.

... and the rest, if your PH garage is up to date!

I have an unscratched itch for a 968, but more likely to end up with a Sport than a CS due to £££
