Problem with screen brightness on laptop

Hi Folks
The brightness on my laptop screen is fine but when I unplug the cable from the mains, the brightness goes down.
What could be the reason for this? Is there something wrong with the laptop?

Power options. Click on your battery icon to adjust.

Reduce power consumption when on battery. Similarly by default the CPU performance may be a little lower on battery.

You can change the behaviour by adjusting the power options in control panel.

There are options for preset brightness when on battery or mains.

Just Google it.

As others have said, it'll be a power profile doing it's best to save power.

BTW, have you thought about changing your username
