Custom hood / tonneau companies - any recommendations ?
Discussion
Hi all,
I own a Lotus 7 replica built by myself from a kit.
The only down side I find at the moment is due to the lack of windscreen (my choice) I find myself unwilling to leave it parked up at events etc. Although a tonneau cover will not give any sort of security that's not really what I am after, but some protection from the weather would be great just in case of the odd shower.
Can anyone recommend a company (ideally in the Midlands) that I could take the car to and they could make me a bespoke tonneau cover ?
This is the car, its a GBS (and not a Caterham or Westfield) and therefore not easy to get something off the shelf.

and this is the sort of thing I am looking for :-

Any help would be appreciated.
Regards
Tim

Many, many years (1989) ago this chap https://www.coachtrimming.co.uk/ made a bespoke tonneau cover for my 'special' (a one-off).
He used 'German-hooding' - Mohair - and it's still going strong

Thanks, I will take a look.He used 'German-hooding' - Mohair - and it's still going strong
Think it will be too far and don't imagine its something that can be done virtually (in terms of measuring up)

I've used this guy to make tonneau covers and hoods previously.

This guy is absolutely brilliant, made me a one-off for my own car. He gets rave reviews on the Morgan forums which is where I first heard of him.
The covers are lightweight, storm proof and pack up to nothing. Not a traditional tonneau but much more practical and fitted in about 30 seconds ! Since I bought mine the mohair tonneau hasn't been used.
He made mine without seeing the car and the car is unique.

Many thanks, this looks great.
I like the one he did for the Morgan Speedster that's on his site. Something like that could perhaps work.
I have dropped them a line.

Hope you are well.
Just wanted to say a huge thanks for the referral to John at Morgan Hoods. He has been superb from my first enquiry up to the cover arriving today.
I am over the moon with it, its exactly what I wanted and will give me loads more occasions to use the car.
