So found a low mileage car, for 6 years old its done 2000 a year and on its 4th owner.

8000 recorded at 1st MOT then 2000 for each of the next two years then less than 1k in the last year with the latest owner.

This seems to be low.

Or do Porsche not get driven :-) Obviously I will check for wear and tear but 1000 in the last 12 months, granted 3 months lost to COVID.

What's the car, and where is it?

A second car in London might well do that mileage, even across several owners if it stays in the same area.

I'd be checking as many records/paperwork as you can though to try and see if there's anything fishy.

Unless it's a collectable model, mileage THAT low can sometimes do more harm than good.

Mileage correction is a risk with all cars and this risk increases in line with the car's value if you ask me.

Even basic lease cars are at risk now of mileage correction as more and more companies offer fixed mileage lease deals.

Mines done less than 4K miles in the last 6 years, Last year it did 85 Miles, So far this year its done 150.

It's a 3rd car, and a Motorbike before it, you can't drive them all at once and working 5-6 days a week.... Gets in the way !
There is a train of thought surrounding cars that don't get used much ? and that just sitting there on trickle charge helps speed up the rotting process or helps detonate the engine, But the same people will gladly bounce it off the Limiter from the traffic light GP and tell you that's what it's made for.

I wouldn't shy away from a Low miles car, the condition determines the miles and if the seats worn thro and it's done 6K then somethings not right,
the condensers and rads should help detrmine use, underside, shocks etc. Interior and the wheel.
If the miles bother you then but a high miler thats been well used.

I guess a car shouldn't have many stone chips with this local pottering mileage.

As you say could have been a 2/3rd car.

One the 9x6 cars, it's possible to look at the number of hours the engine has run. Corroborating this with the recorded mileage will indicate whether it's out of kilt. My indy did this with both my cars.

Presume this is also possible on later models?

I just bought a 14 plate 991 with 6800 miles, genuine because we know the first owners.

Its weird you use correction and not falsification.

Wouldn’t like to think of the cost per mile, just in depreciation!
