Rather than visit the garage to inflate my tyres (there's always somebody using the air), I'd like to investigate a home inflator - anybody recommend one which is any good? One of my relatives bought a Halfords one which is crap, let's most of the air out when removing it!

I bought a compressor from B&Q cant remember how much, between 50 and 100 quid. You get a proper inflator like than garage and comes with nail gun, spray gun and air gun, just the job and saves you wasting money on cheap tyre inflators.

Found this - probably a bit cheap and cheerful but looks like the winner does the job.

Halfords do an all in one jump starter, battery charger, compressor, torch thingie - about £50 and well handy if you have an Elise

I have one of these:

<a href="www.halfords.com/opd_product_details.asp?id=16869&type=0&cat=65">www.halfords.com/opd_product_details.asp?id=16869&type=0&cat=65</a>

and one of these:

www.halfords.com/opd_product_details.asp?id=16595&type=0&cat=65

Which reads in half psi, very useful for getting the rears right.
