Surprised there isn't a topic already....

2 mass gatherings on consecutive nights, litter including broken bottles strewn along water front, Liver building set on fire and police attacked with missiles - all during a pandemic with no social distancing.

The police tried to ban them, but VAR overturned their decision.

There was something about this crowd that didn't anger the NP&E stalwarts as much as certain others.

Is anyone surprised that this is how they behaved? After all, they do like to go on about their “history” ...

I can't stand football. Couldn't give a fk what the hooligans get up to in their cities, it's expected.

Everyone believes that’s the reason for your lack of outrage. Promise.

I only get outraged on a bad round of golf.

The rest is faux outrage on here for entertainment purposes.

This will only get worse and worse as they smell weakness in the police and government to act. The fear of being called anti-scouse is so strong now the police are almost paralysed in responding to crimes like this.

This is often how areas decline sharply; a lawless few turn it into an effective no go area and then use the lack of apparent policing to ramp up various illegal and anti social activities, generally at the cost of the rest of the neighbourhood.

Taking the Knee, ticktock dancing and rainbow makeup has shown weakness and submissive Police are infiltrated with liberal lefties propaganda and have lost authority criminals should be afraid of the police / authority not any more they just laugh at them "I know my rights init" even the Crays had respect for the police. Criminals would be afraid of stiff sentencing in hard prisons with no privileges and Cressida dick ? not fit for purpose just ticked the quota box !

i think that's some of the missing posts from this thread.

I'm not a Liverpool fan but I think they should be forgiven their excesses. The vast majority just wanted to party and who can blame them. A thoroughly deserved title after a hideously long wait in the midst of a horrible lockdown. Time to calm down now though. wink

It's understandable. compared to other rabbles, travelling Liverpool fans have a long history of exemplary behaviour.

After decades of whingeing the Scousers have something to celebrate for once. It will be something they can tell their children and grand children about and may never be repeated. wink

Interesting piece on the fine line the Police walk right now.

Hardline policing may provoke civil unrest, government warned

Not to mention it's a numbers game and if it all kicks off there's rather more of "them" than there are Police.

Appreciate 99% of the fans in Liverpool were good natured and as usual it's a minority being dicks.

Wonder what was different to this protest than others that people got so wound up about scratchchin

You seem to be mixing up a protest with a celebration... I wonder why... scratchchin

Yes fair shout my bad on the language.

It's interesting how people see these things though.

Bunch of football fans celebrate and there are a few bad apples attacking Police - tumbleweed.

Bunch of people protest and there are a few bad apples attacking Police - why weren't the riot Police there.

A) They are scouse yobs.
B) They are football fans.
Why is anybody surprised by what happened?

May be it is because the police seem to be treating the two groups differently...
