Rubbish. What on earth is going on?

I know people are always decrying things as being worse than in the "good old days" but wtf is going on here? This genuinely feels like a brand new phenomenon.
I appreciate that at something like a massive music festival it can be really hard to tidy up after yourself (you're trapped in a massive crowd and there are no bins), but surely when you're at the park you can put your rubbish in a carrier bag and deposit it in a bin?
Also, why on earth is nitrous oxide the new craze? It's like the 1980s and glue sniffing. Surely the manufacturers of the canisters must be wondering why their sales forecasts have gone through the roof?

I had this exact conversation this afternoon, the state of the beaches was disgusting. Even if the bins are full or there are no bins, how hard is it to bag it up in a carrier bag and take it home with you?
It is disgusting and just one of the signs we are seeing of society starting to fray at the edges with common decency and law abiding seemingly now optional to the masses.
What with the rubbish on the beaches, block parties attacking the Police, people ignoring social distancing and trashing liverpool town centre because their Team won the title.....

I think it's just people discovering something new which is not (in practice) dealt with by the police. It has been big in the US for years, I'm not sure why it has only just caught on here. There's a LOT just dumped on the roads around here, I was almost hit by one pinged by a car driving over it.That said, other than littering it's mostly harmless unless you breathe it continuously or inhale a dozen boxes every day.

k everyone else" attitude. Saw a video on Twitter the other day of the cycle lanes in Bournemouth littered with cars, just abandoned everywhere. I fear it'll get worse too as the summer progresses.

To be fair Bournemouth is a horrible place on any weekend, unbearable on a sunny one. Like London-on-sea. Parents with chinless children called George, going for a restful day by the seaside with millions of others. It would take a national campaign on the level of the government's Covid-19 response, along with beefed up legislation to eradicate.
Short of that, nothing will change.
I also think it has something to do with the amount of people who randomly pick up litter they see. I am one of those people, don't do it for the facebook likes, do it as I do not want to live in a sthole, will pick up stuff when out walking, especially if we have the pram, then dump in bin on way or at home.
People maybe are scared of touching anything now, let alone other peoples litter.
I'll be honest, at the beginning of this pandemic I stopped picking litter up for weeks.

I don't think the council have removed the bins in anyone's home.

- Leave only footprints
- Take only pictures
Sadly, the Great British countryside is playing host to the worst sort of scum. Clearly, once lockdown is eased and they can go back to picking peanuts out of poo, shopping, or whatever it was they used keep their minuscule intellects occupied with, all will be good.

I can't stand litter but I must admit I don't go round picking it up after other people unless it's blown our way or I've found it in our spot on the beach.
