Fuel filler flap not popping up, just weak spring as far as I can see.
Switch OK, emergency pull OK but quoted nearly £190 for unit and then it needs bonding to the flap.
Can anyone help or advise ?

Thinking laterally...it may be that it is not the spring getting weak but the hinge getting sticky / full of crud. Might be worth a bit of judicious cleaning and application of WD40...give the spring less work to do. Worth a try for the cost of a spray of WD40 (0.1p or whatever!)

This is a common fault, but as already mentioned above, you may not need the part which you have mentioned.

When you press the release button, do you hear a click from the fuel flap area, then walk round to find the flap still closed?
If so, I dont know the details, but I think it is resolved by an adjustment of some kind.

It’s on a 2012 Virage, the quick fix does not work or the WD40 because the flap is free moving and there is no problem with the release mechanism.
The problem is that the flap has no momentum to move up when the release is pressed. The only thing that seems to be the problem is the torsion spring not working correctly. Unless someone can tell me anything different, then I see no other problem.
