Got this month's Evo yesterday, and I have to say I really enjoyed reading Martin Buckley's rant. I thought I was in PH-land for a moment! I won't give it away, as it's worth reading and I realise most won't have their copies yet.

What I didn't enjoy was the cerbera anatomy-extension "joke" [do any tvr drivers really think like that?] at the back page, along with another unnecessary reference to waiting for the AA... I would have thought better of them. Mind you, I would have thought that they'd give up on that page months ago. Maybe they're getting insecure as the Ferrari is always breaking?

[Oops, I guess I did give that bit away...]

I believe that "tailslide" is done by the same guy who does "sniff petrol"

I think (as a cerb owner) that that is a reasonably funny article. It is a hairy chested hetrosexual throbber. Hence the article. Long live cars that are perceived to make up for lacking elsewhere.

Yeah, i was quite suprised - and impressed - with that rant, ive read loads of Martin Buckley's work and i never knew he had so much pent up aggression!

Im suprised evo actually published it, cos there was hardly anything about cars in the rant.
Made me laugh though!

Oh my! He wasn't sitting on any fences when he sat down and wrote that article was he?

Top reading. It really was like reading a thread in here.

I find Martin Buckley an entertaining writer but I am amazed that his pent up agression comes as a surprise.

Buckley's blind spots regarding the inadequacies of the cars he likes and the vitues of those he dislikes is the stuff of legend. His unerring bias is, to me, the most endering thing about his work, rather like a less pedantic LJK Setright. Keep it up MB, somebody has to care for all the lamedog Lancias, feeble Facel Vegas and questionable Quatroportes of this world.

Unlike Buckley my obsession with Bristols is based purely upon the virtues of the marque, not even a hint of bias or fanaticism!

As an aside gnomesmith, is there an easy way for my girlfriend to satiate her passion for the Bristol 403 by getting to have a close look at one (and perhaps a ride)?

OK, that's enough double entendres for now. This is jeremyc's long-suffering girlfriend naughtily using his PH id. A ride in a Bristol 403 will shut me up about getting a Tuscan for a little while anyway1
