911 and Porsche World
Discussion
It only occurred to me the other day that I haven't had one for a while.
I was going to cancel my subscription anyway as I am bored and fed up of "group" articles on the same old cars all the time. Some of the journalism is getting a bit tired and poor, with some of them seemingly not being fans of the cars.
Very much enjoying Evo, you can really feel the joy in their articles. And they are not just travel blogs to their favourite tuner.

Seems to have become a rag-bag of articles with no coherence. Not enough focus on current/recent models, too much emphasis on mods and 911s. Macan, Cayenne, Pana (and even Cayster) don't figure in the mag's Porsche world. Taycan featured once.
Chris Horton's stuff always interesting - even if, given I'm a technical ignoramus, the pics don't always mean much to me.

It was the sun kissed reviews of certain traders with less than stellar reputations, presumably based on their ad spend, that did for my subscription. Especially that one who motors all the way to Hendon.
Yes I fully agree about not calling out the rogue dealers, shocking. I've been a Boxster owner for over a year and my member friend passes his mag on to me. The Boxster/Cayman content is very poor in my opinion. I won't be subscribing. Finally cancelled my subscription after 15 years as It had become fairly s
t and boring with poor writing, with some very odd opinions from its contributors.
According to the publisher it is back in print this month.
It’s attitude towards some now departed dealers was not really surprising, they lent it a lot of cars.
Not sure where they will now get them from, we shall see. I don’t think it will survive, there is only so much you can write about the modern dullness, unless they go back to featuring interesting modified cars.

Agree with the above. I have a Lotus as well as the Boxster. A couple of years ago a new mag called Absolute Lotus came out. Published every two months, it has an excellent mix of articles across the range from the start of Lotus to the present, both road and race cars with occasional articles by the great and the good from the Lotus world. The new publishers would do well to have a look.

(I have no connection with the mag btw)
I sent them an email not long ago to the letters page just as this was the first Porsche magazine I had read but that being the June edition from 2002 !
Said I could send them a picture of the car in the advert on page 127 as that did no justice to the car, but had no response. Shame really but then I saw this forum and I saw a post on sharing piccies so posted some there, which are better pics anyhow !
So oddly will be the first and looks like the last magazine I will read from them !!!
