Hi all,
Finally managed to source two monitors that were in stock and have got them set up. I've a HDMI cable into one and a usb-c to displayport cable in the other. I've got screen 1 showing a duplicate of my laptop screen and can drag screens onto the second monitor but is there a way I can use the laptop as a third monitor for Teams calls etc, it just shows as the main screen at the moment if that makes sense?

Thanks

At the moment it sounds like you have duplicate displays which gives you one desktop on two screens. Try extending the desktop instead.

Note you need to get them the right way round or the mouse action won't work properly.

Thanks, that seems to have worked... slight bug bear now though in that when I go to Display settings, it shows the left hand monitor as monitor 2 and the right hand monitor as monitor 1. The left hand monitor has the HDMI cable going to it and the right hadn has the displayport - is is just a case of switiching these over, I won't lose any quality on the screen will I?

Thanks

No, you shouldn't do as they are both digital signals.

If you are on Windows 10, go in to Settings - System - Display; it should show your three screens in boxes numbered 1,2 and 3.
Left click and hold on one of them and you can drag them around to rearrange them.

Thanks, I can drag them around etc but in the photo from Birr97 whenever I click on detect, it shows the LH monitor as 2 and the RH monitor as 1 (on the monitors itself). So I have the monitors as in Birr97s photo otherwise they are the wrong way round if that makes sense. I'd like it to show 1 and 2 on the monitors and on the settings tab in the right order if that makes sense?

Can you use a docking station? I have one so i can use a proper keyboard and mouse, with two monitors and a third if I open the laptop lid

Once they're set up, it doesn't matter. Make sure you press apply after you've dragged them round on the screen.

You'll never look at the numbers again. The numbers are only there to help you see the layout of the virtual desktop.

Or just move the physical monitors around, or swap the HDMI and USB-C into the opposite monitors.

As others have mentioned you can drag them around into the correct order, note its not just x axis but y axis too, incase they're at different heights from the lappy screen.

Cheers all, seems to make sense now. Loving the extra screen space after using just my laptop for the past few months!
