My son is after his first car,
seems to have settled on the fiesta 2013 onwards, the one with the aston martin grill,
they seem nice cars.

it gos without saying than he wants an st2, but thats not going to happen,

so my questions are which is the one to go for, engine wise, zetec or ecoboost,
and also is there a partucualr model that has the sporty look but is cheaper on the insurance, as they are all coming in over 2300 to insure,
budget 2500-4500 grand
many thanks in advance

I think the 2008 model is called the called the Mk7 (Mk7.5 for the post 2013) in the UK.

Partner has as 90hp 1.6 diesel 58 plate titanium, now on 106k miles and used daily, basically no issues at all.

Slightly heavy on its front tyres, with have developed sidewall cracks prematurely despite regaur type pressure checks.
Boot open sensor is built into the lock unit, which when it fails is £200 else the dash and alarm pings off all the time.

I have driven the 1ltr ecoboost as a hire car and it was a fun little sporty hatch with cable handbrake which worked as intended....

We're in our 30s with NCD so cant really comment on insurance. How old is he?

I'd prob go for the 1.25 Duratecs, bullet proof and fairly easy to work on and not particularly quick which is maybe a consideration for a first car for a young lad biggrin

Cheap to buy too as most folk want the ecoboost jobbies.
