Sorting email accounts out... (1&1/IONIS)
Discussion
I need to fix the mess that has become my 1&1/IOSIS account.
It started as me having just the one domain for my personal email address and 1x exchange account, 5 years ago I added a couple of business addresses and domains. It's now at the point where I have 6 domains and about 40 email addresses, 10 of which are exchange accounts. Costs are spiralling and I've not been keeping on top of it, it's not straightforward to set up accounts and certain exchange accounts won't receive email from others for absolutely no reason I can make sense of.
I've moved the hosting away from 1&1 for the websites but I'd like to sort the emails out.
Any PHers have a business that specialises in this? I'm scared to do too much as I can't risk losing emails from our exchange accounts.
If not, any recommendations on who to speak to?

Whatever you do here might mean taking a backup of your critical emails and exporting the contents, depending on what you're trying to achieve.
I've recently consolidated loads of email addresses and domains to one host, Skystra and as part of that we exported the contents of the mailboxes.
I then set up the new hosts for whatever email addresses I needed and where possible configured forwarders for emails that could go to one mailbox etc.
The above could allow you to decommission the exchange services if that's what you're looking to do and have all of your new emails over IMAP. With some planning, it could be done seamlessly.
