Yeah but..
For a lot of events the prize money is the same. I know the US Open is. I think Wimbledon is one of the few that is not.
The women also do the doubles events (more prize money) so they can't be that tired.
Also the power players are already here. Williams sisters, Davenport and Sharapova is a 6 footer. I wonder how Davenport would manage over five sets though?

Women's tennis is better to watch purely[*] because the serves aren't so devastating; there's actually some play in between points! To be fair, a 5 set women's match would last a fair bit longer than a men's match for this very reason.

There are more rallies in women's tennis which makes the game interesting whereas the men's is more reliant on (power) serve and volley and the point is over. However, men's tennis is equally entertaining because there are some fine physical specimens to appreciate!
