Suspicious mileage on car??
Discussion
So I'm looking for my first car and recently found a 2008 nissan note which seems like a good first car. It's a dealership that is selling it. However the car has had 4 previous owners and only has 148km I asked the dealership about it and he said he don't pay to much attention to how many owners a car has had. I'm just wondering Is this legit? Or have dealerships been known to tamper with the mileage? It seems to good to be true

When you say 'only has 148km' do you mean that it shows it has done 148,000 miles, or only 148 kilometres ?Assuming it's miles, that seems pretty normal to me and not at all suspicious, 12,000 miles a year which must be a very normal mileage, times 12 years, gets you pretty much that. If anything it's slightly on the high side for a smallish car.
Pretty bullish of the dealer to tamper with the mileage to wind it back to an pretty much unbelievable 148 miles covered in 12 years.
I'm assuming the car itself presents as pretty much brand new. Wouldn't take more than half a glance to take a guess whether it is a remotely plausible mileage. Service history and MOT history should help validate.
4 owners is odd, but perhaps none of them liked driving it.
