981 GT4 with extended Porche warranty - Servicing question.

Hi,

My 981 GT4, which has a year remaining on an extended Porsche warranty, is coming up for it's next service.

Do I need to stick with an OPC for servicing to maintain the warranty, (lengthy wait due to Covid-19) or can I use my local independent, (used for several years for my CS and very happy), without invalidating or affecting it?

Just wanted to check the position before speaking to the OPC.

Many OPCs will do the 111 point check free, as part of the Service if done at the same time.

Like it or not - Full OPC Service History is still regarded as an asset, and valuable if you have future ‘goodwill’ claims.

If you intend to renew the Porsche warranty then the latest service has to be with an OPC i.e. if you have it done by an independent and then try to renew the warranty the OPC will 'force' you to have the service work repeated even if its not needed as part of the renewal. Makes it very expensive if its a big service.

If you don't intend to renew then any work before your warranty expires just has to be in line with Porsche standards - they can't make you use an OPC.
