So, after a good few months of the Chim being held t the sprayers - I have today seen it in its new colour before she gets dressed - it looks amazing!!!! so happy and very different!! Pics will follow once the car is back.

Looking at all the nice new and shiny parts to go back on - Im looking at the reservoir and thinking it would look nice with a stainless surround hiding the silicone.

does anything like this exist?

I was going to buy a new one and glue on a rubber gasket/seal of some description, the silicone idea for something that needs to be removed periodically is poor.
Maybe try and lay down a nice big bead of silicone on the cover, allow it to set and let this be the seal, no idea if it would work.

Yes I know what you mean! The paint work looks so good - the idea of laying silicone on it seems criminal!

Here's mine, just a piece of formed aluminium with black plastic edging. 45mins in the garage, job done. I'm still wondering how to do the same with the clutch reservoir cover

Hi Bob

I do like this idea! looks tidy - and would look good to colour match the aluminium with the body, does that seal fit below into the wing - is it still silicone underneath?

The original mastic is in place, this is just 'beautification', my reservoir sticker was peeling and I never liked seeing Ford written on on top surface. It's just held in place by the cap plus a tiny dab of sikaflex at the front to protect against it catching on some thing and bending while I'm working under the bonnet. Aluminium is quite easy to form so that it follows the inner wing as it drops away

You mean like this, if some talented person made some of these, I'm sure there would be a lot of takers.

I got mine from autospecialists, but I can't find it on their site at the moment. They've got the reservoir cap cover in stock though..
