Having trouble with electrics following a part rebuild

I have done a glass out bare metal restoration on my fiat dino but I am having trouble with some of the electrics. The dashboard and main wiring were left in place and on re assembly the electric windows work,the door end safety lights,rear lights etc. So far I have 2 problems. The oil temp guage goes straight to max when the ignition is turned on (on a cold motor). Second is There are a pair of courtesy lights for the rear passengers that do not operate the same as the front pair of courtesy lights which work fine. In fact when the front switch on the rear switch off,and vice versa when the front switch off. I find electrics quite challenging but even by using a wiring diagram I get stuck when the wires get inaccessible or behind the dash where it's too complicated and they were never touched anyway.

Bare Metal repaints often mean earth issues, check the grounds , they can cause all sorts of problems !
