Lots of things being chucked about.

anything you agree a disagree with?

Not sure if the £500 each thing goes a head that "everyone" should have it.

Stamp duty, will people be in a rush to move until the uncertainty is over?

I find that very interesting, and would welcome any opinions as to why that would or wouldn't be a good idea

I like the idea, but I can't see it happening. I think there would also be calls for people to simply be given £500 so it can be spent on things more important, like rent or bills.

People are already getting billions spent to support routine living.

The danger is that the focus on necessities creates an avalanche of issues (and more people needing support) if certain sectors contract significantly.

Issuing £30Bn of money guaranteed to flow through those sectors is a very neat way of supporting them.

I really like the idea.

I'd like a tax break for people that haven't been furloughed and had to work throughout.

Also think the stamp duty announcement is only going to stall the market as people wait for it to be officially in place.

A fair number of people who would really benefit from stamp duty relief are probably not in a position to move due to very cautious LTVs being required by mortgage lenders.

Stimulating demand seems a little pointless in a world where social distancing is a massive drag on productivity.

With the best will in the world, redundant staff members at upper crust are not going to suddenly become green insulation installation experts in the short term.

We need to see what normal looks like before spending serious cash otherwise it will just be more money we don't have pissed up against the wall.

There is serious short term pain ahead and, in the short term, there is nothing HMG can really do about it.

The green element is interesting, grants to make homes more environmentally friendly. We've nursed our boiler through two winters so that would be useful, though I suspect not getting any government benefits we wouldn't be eligible for any grants.

Actually you will find they will soon be rolling out insulation rolls in lofts, making sure no gaps are left for air movement.

The risk I assume is that it causes inflation. Or if not sufficiently targeted lines the pockets of businesses who were not struggling to attract custom anyway.

In our situation she just wants to exchange, ive told her we are still exchanging completing but waiting a day or 2 could be worth about 12grand to us.

If its from October which i have read then it won't matter we will crack on, If its from 1st July we may have to have a think.

A claim back if completed this month would be best case scenario for us .

It hasn't been announced yet ... but I doubt it (and hope not!).

They want to phase out gas boilers by 2025 so I fear you may be onto plums. They would rather you dug your garden to install a massively expensive ground source heat pump... which is pointless unless you have a very well insulated house because of the inherent COPS issue.

I feel your pain but the last thing the country needs is more mis-allocated capital into housing. It's already beyond ludicrous in this country. The national obsession with housing needs to end, frankly.

Be interesting to know how much he’s already given away since the last election. Figure must be mind blowing by now.

Interesting? More predictable. The government do this same thing all the time.

People last time round got fooled into getting exterior wall insulation, that will take 30 years to payback...
