Discussion
Hey Guys - long time since i've been in these parts!
So - i have a curious liking for green porkers
this is up for auction round the corner from me next week
can anyone spot any watchouts?

this was my last one - sold years ago: - 911 targa, rainforest green - which i believe used to joking be referred to as 'resale' green - due to the limited demand on green sports cars...
whats not to like?

Sorry I can be of no help - you need to look at the oily bits.
But that lovely colour brings back some great memories....

ETA have you checked the MOT history? A few leaks currently, but some strange driveshaft damage back in 2009? But if it's lasted 11 years...

I bought mine partly because of the colour. I like it! As for the OP, with 140k on it, it's possible it may have had many items changed; suspension, clutch, brakes etc. Within it being remote bidding only, inspecting the car close up and any paperwork is tricky. I see they are having a viewing day though.
There'll be a buyers premium to add of 12% or so (not sure of Baron's charges) so a total under £5k may be possible. Here's my 2.7:

is that the light, or is it a darker shade?
I think the reason i was drawn to the green was that it just doesnt look very 'porsche' (if that makes any sense?) - so a little more unusual
on the auction - yeah - they do have a viewing day and as it's less than three miles from me & i'm working from home still - might just amble up there next week.
buyers prem is 10+ vat so yeah - i thnk anything up to £5 hammer (£5600) would be a steal unless is borked pork!
thats still a pretty good price for an S right?
Yes, the BBS wheel centres are dark grey with the edges just lacquered. Thanks. The last owner had them re-done. Just passed the MoT with advisory on rear tyre inner edges. Trying hard to wear them out.
Sounds like the auction car has had a heck of a lot of work done on it, and the heated glass rear screen is a bonus (standard after 2003 facelift models). auction bumph states 2004 but facelift models were late 2003, I had one previously:
"The hood has been replaced with upgraded skin and heated glass screen (2004 spec replacing plastic screen). Additional maintenance includes front suspension replacement struts plus bushes all round, air con pump/condensers/pipework, an uprated water pump, replacement clutch assembly, uprated coolant expansion tank/pipework, replacement drive shaft gaiters, and replacement power steering hoses. Other expected maintenance includes replacement of discs/pads, handbrake shoes, thermostat, alternator, and engine drive belt."
The registration stays too. It must have had paintwork too to look like that with 140k on it (?). I think you have to buy a catalogue to have a look. Some of these auction houses charge quite a bit for the privilege and with all the online ones in the last 2 months, I expect many will bid on trust.....

The green 3.2s at Baron's just got hammered down at £5900. Adding on the buyer's premium that's over £6500:

That's pretty strong - must have been nice in the metal...
I didnt go over there in the end.
bought this one instead:
so will be popping in questions on here an boxa.net !
first projects are to refurb that centre consol (has the wierd perishing plastic coating which is rubbing off)
& going to get the steering wheel, gearknob, gaiter & handbrake re-trimmed.
rest of the interior is in pretty good nick once cleaned up for a 15 year old car...
so far, so good
