F-Type vs 911 as a daily

I'm looking for a new daily and it's between these two cars.
My budget was £35k, but I'm a great believer in the price of a car isn't what you pay for it, it's the amount it depreciates over your time of ownership.
I was about set on spending around £35k on an 2015 F-Type V6 S AWD with 20k - 30k miles.
Then I looked at 2014 991 911s for around £45k (They'd usually be Carreras but sometimes Carrera S will come in to budget) with around 40,000 miles.
When the country isn't locked down I do around 15,000 miles per year. I will be driving the car all year round so AWD will be useful but not essential. Anything above 25mpg will make me content, but obviously the more the better.
I have no kids and rarely have anyone in the back of my car, but it's good to know the extra space is there if I travel. Right now my SLK55 only just about meets my needs for luggage capacity.
Both cars will be automatic.
My commute to the office is boring with very little opportunities for fun (50mph all the way with a few opportunities to overtake, only to get stuck behind another car anyway). I also do about 1-2 journeys up and down the country per month.
I'm hoping for some help knowing what the best car is for me. I prefer the looks of the F-Type but I've heard so many people on this forum say you just have to experience 911 ownership to understand.
Things I consider:
Running costs and maintenance
Daily driving comfort
Has anyone driven both cars? Which was better?
Predictions on resale value after putting around 30,000 miles on each
Any difference in MPG? The 911 is like 300kg lighter!
Usability every day
Which would you go for?

Not particularly helpful, but for the criteria you describe, I can’t think of a better / more pleasant place to be than in a 991 Carrera S PDK. The F Type wouldn’t even appear on my radar.
The Porsche will give you a whole other level of overall ownership enjoyment. Once you’ve had a 911, you’ll want another etc.
The Jag will just be a Jag.

Id have ther F type but a V6 S
Id rather have a RWD car and buy a set of winter tyres if you are that worried about grip in poor weather
A 911 is too good to efficiant and too german i think, no doubt a great car but id like abit of the hooligan you get with the Jag and it looks better

It’s going to be the old “drive both, see which you prefer”, isn’t it? 
That said, you’d have to think the 911 will depreciate less, just based on the prices for older 911s and F-Types. I’d assume (but don’t know) that the 911 would cost more to service.
Chap up the road has a V6 F-Type coupe - it’s not “just a Jag”, as the sound it makes is excellent.
Any reason you’re not tempted to save ~10k and get an older, RWD F-Type?

As a Porsche owner myself my issue with using it every day is the amount of road noise. This may or may not be a concern to you but to me it can get wearing when I'm tired. I don't use mine every day and I've never been in an F-Type but I would expect it to be much better in that respect.

I would definitely consider a RWD.I think a RWD will be more fun to drive and also for the AWD version it has almost 100kg extra over the front wheels which I'm told has an impact on its cornering ability.
The savings would be about £5k so would definitely consider it
What is the main type of driving you'll be doing? Motorway and some A/B roads or the other way round?
I'd choose the Jaguar for mainly motorway work and the 911 for mainly A & B roads etc.
The Jaguar will depreciate more as it's a Jag and unfortunately they all do, even it seems the F Type. You could get a late model XK/XKR and save yourself 15k or so? Obviously that brings more maintenance and perhaps less MPG.
You can't go wrong with a 911. I've driven several and the only thing I can fault it on is a little bit of refinement, but then it is a sports car and not a Jaguar...

I know many dont like the R231, but I think th looks grow on you and your budget would get an SL500 4.7 which, whilst not an AMG, is still pretty quick. Plus its refined and the hard roof goes down. I'm not for one minute suggesting it will be better to drive than a 911 or an F Type but it's still a great car and a bit of a leftfield choice nowadays. Its sounds about right for your requirements too.

A couple of years ago I was looking to replace a Boxster S which had been written off. I was more or less going to go for a 911. but I wanted a 991 rather than a 997 as I think they look much better. But my commute took me past Guy Salmon in Ascot every day, and I'd always drooled over the F-type. They'd had an F-type R on the forecourt for a while and I wondered if the powerful V8 could tempt me away from Porsche. So I decided to take it for a test drive. The noise and the crackles were sublime, but the car felt pretty numb to drive. It didn't feel as quick as I expected, and worse still it was only available with an 8-speed automatic. While it was very good, I was driving a loaner Boxster with a PDK gearbox and I was missing my manual gear stick. In the end I found a manual Boxster S with LSD and only 8k miles on the clock, so that's what I went with. But I can't imagine an enthusiastic driver picking an F-type over a 911. A year later my local independent Porsche dealer had an F-type V6 as a trade in and the price was pretty tempting. I took it for a drive wondering if I might feel differently, but no. it turns out that an F-type V6 isn't dynamically good enough to tempt me out a Boxster, let alone trump a 911. And the interior feels so much cheaper too.

Most of my miles are done on those boring 50mph roads. Once or twice per month a long motorway drive. But I do like being able to bomb it down the B-roads to the shops once in a while too.I'd choose the Jaguar for mainly motorway work and the 911 for mainly A & B roads etc.

A BMW i8 would have made the shortlist if it was't for those stupid impractical doors.
I have considered buying something like a 981 Cayman S and like a 2010 BMW 520d for the boring commute, but when I added up maintenance, insurance and tax it ended up being pretty close and better to just have a nice car you enjoy driving every day.

I love the leftfield thinking but unfortunately I just don't like the design of the modern SL.It's such as shame because the R230 was a stunning car but Mercedes just lost their way after that.
The AMG GT appears to have replaced the SL in that category now.
